| Traditional Chinese Medicine |
 |

Traditional Chinese Medicine is a complete system of health. Many methods are used to prevent and cure illness. One method that is gaining acceptance in the West, is Acupunture. The World Health Organization recognizes Acupunture for the treatment of many diseases. Unfortunately other methods such as Gua Sha,Cupping, Tuina, and most importantly, Herbology, have not received much recognition in the USA. With western medicine being one of the ten top causes of death in this country, it is of great importance that the public be educated in other methods of treatment. By combinig Eastern and Western medicine, doctors can reduce side effects of medicine, prevent illness, and cut back on Insurance cost.

Chinese Medicine is based on Eastern Philosophy. The Founders believed that all life occurs within the circle of nature. Everything is connected and dependant on one another.Nature is a whole, based on Yin and Yang.Yin and Yang are opposites, yet interdependant. Nothing is just Yin, or just Yang.Nature is in constant motion, and in harmony. When this balance is upset, disaster looms. What is good for nature, is good for man, what is good for one, is good for all, what is good for the mind, is good for the body, what damages the earth, damages the people.

By combining both methods, health would increase, health care cost will go down, as will malpractice insurance for doctors, which in turn will lower the cost of treatment, etc.You can see how everthing has an avalanche effect. This is also true of your body.If you have a stomache problem, eventually you will not absorb nutrients correctly, and in turn other organs will be affected. Why wait for this to happen? Chinese Medicine will treat the whole person. You cannot ignore the fact that you are responsible for your health, not your doctor.

Chinese Medicine looks at the body,as a whole, and uses the theory of Five Elements, and Yin and Yang to diagnose and prevent illness. Western Medicine views the body as a an engine, with seperate parts.Since the body is viewed as an engine, doctors can be viewed as mechanics. They do an occasional tune up, but are otherwise called when a part is damaged, and not functioning properly.Chinese Doctors treat the body as a whole, and focus on preventing illness. It is my personal opinion that people should use Chinese Medicine as a preventive method, while using Western Medicine in cases of emergency, and cases of a severe nature.

The problem is that western doctors dont teach you how to be in charge of your health. Chinese medicine teaches you to take care of yourself, using diet, meditation, excercise, taking supplements when needed, etc. Acupuncture is a great method of prevention, and is also very effective for treating many illnesses. TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR LIFE, AND YOUR HEALTH!
