BIOGRAPHY
Wing Chun
Dan began his Wing Chun training in 1991 at a cross training school in NY,and was awarded a Full Instructor status in 1997. He later went on to train with Sifu Marc Williams and was certified a Full instructor under Sifu Williams in 2004. Dan was fortunate to have had seminar training and/or private lessons with many Wing Chun teachers from the Yip Man lineage including such Wing Chun greats as Sifu Gary Lam, and Hawkins Cheung.
Kali Eskrima, Arnis
Dan started his Kali training along with his Wing Chun in 1991 at a cross training school in NY and was awarded his Full Instructor status (Guro) in 1997. Dan also trained with legendary Grand Master Remy Presas and Guro Dan Inosanto during seminars throughout many years. He also is a certified affiliate of the Bahala Na group under Grandmaster Tony Somera. In most recent times Dan has become a certified Instructor under Master Don Edwards in Doce Pares Multi Style System.
Mande Muda/Sunda Silat
Dan started his Silat journey beginning in 1993 at a seminar with Herman Suwanda .Dan was granted permission to teach Mande Muda from Herman Suwanda directly in the year 1999.He continued his training until the passing of Herman Suwanda in a tragic car accident. Herman's brother Bamgbang started his own organization after his brothers passing and Dan is an affiliate Instructor under Bambang Suwanda's Sunda Silat.
Jeet Kune Do
Dan began his JKD training in the early 1990's through seminars with Guro Dan Inosanto and later by training with and Inosanto affiliate Instructor. Dan would help teach classes for several years and learned the system of JKD throughout that time. Dan later began training under Don Edwards , Don is the owner of Integrated Martial Arts and Fitness New Jersey. Dan is an Affilliate Instructor of Intergrated Martial Arts and Fitness.
Grappling and MMA
Dan started grappling as a kid in school and later went on to start training in a mix of Shooto and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in the early 1990's for a few years. He has attended seminars or private lessons with such greats as Professor Pedro Sauer, Professor Marcos Santos, Gokor Chivichyan, James "Avalanche" Boran,Dan now living in California trains with his friends at Bas Ruttens Elite MMA. Most of Dan's training in the 90's was without a gi, in which their was no belt rankings. Dan is now starting BJJ with the gi and starting a new journey as a white belt himself.
Internal Martial Arts
Master Li Tailiang is Dan's only teacher in Xingyi, Bagua and Taiji, Dan became a Full Instructor (Shifu)in Master Li's Xinyi Dao system in 2004 after having had spent several years in private training with Master Li and teaching classes at Master Li's NY School. He is an inner door disciple(Tudi) to Master Li according to the Tradition of Martial Arts in Shanxi China.
Traditional Chinese Medicine
Dan Graduated with a Masters Degree in Science and a specialty in Acupuncture in 2004 from the NY College of Health Professions. He went back for a second Master Degree course in Chinese Herbal Medicine and graduated in 2006. Dan received his Ny State License to practice Acupuncture in January 2005 after having passed the State Board Exam. Dan later passed the California State Board exam in 2010.
