ILya Koshkin
My martial arts journey started in late 1980s in the Soviet Union with a couple of years in a local Judo program.
As the iron curtain fell, other eastern martial arts became available. I spent the next several years both in Russia and in the US mostly practicing various kungfu styles, from hung gar to wing chun. I discovered muay thai in early 2000s and never looked back.
I started training with Dan some years later when I was looking to add kali to my arsenal. Dan helped me combine muay thai and kali together with the original judo foundation into something cohesive before I had to relocate to Albuquerque.
I teach muay thai and some firearms-based combatives as time allows. I focus on the fundamentals of the art above all else.
